SAA Students Win the Champion In the Second Guangzhou·Pazhou Algorithm Contest

  Recently, the final and million-dollar prize competition of the second Guangzhou·Pazhou Algorithm Contest was held in Pazhou, Guangzhou. The theme of this contest was “Optimizing AI Algorithms, Making the World Smarter”. It aimed to create a high-end talent gathering event, an innovative enterprise exchange event, and a technology achievement transformation platform in the field of artificial intelligence. Students from the SAA-SJTU achieved excellent results in this contest. They won the championship of the “Algorithm Optimization Competition - Power Battery Health Estimation” and achieved good results in the million-dollar prize competition participated by all track champions.

  PhD student Wang Yilin from the Laboratory of Aerospace Intelligent Photoelectric Technology (AIPT) participated in the contest with the project “Capacity Prediction and Estimation of New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Based on Self-supervised Learning” Under the guidance of Prof. Li Yuanxiang and Prof. Yang Yongsheng. With their passion for the profession and pursuit of perfection, they worked tirelessly and carefully prepared for months, and finally won the championship in the “Algorithm Optimization Competition - Power Battery Health Estimation” contest. In the million-dollar prize competition participated by all track champions held the next day, Wang Yilin once again achieved good results and received high praise from the judges.

 

  This contest was hosted by the People’s Government of Guangzhou City, and co-organized by the People’s Government of Haizhu District, Guangzhou Science and Technology Bureau, Guangzhou Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Guangzhou Municipal Administration of Government Affairs Service Data Management, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Guangdong Provincial Laboratory (Guangzhou), and Baidu Netcom Technology Co., Ltd. The competition attracted 3,307 teams from 21 countries including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, Italy, Canada, and Israel. The projects involved cutting-edge technology fields such as AI large models, AI for Science, AIGC, intelligent chips, and aerospace.
