School of Aeronautics and Astronautics held a welcome exchange meeting and entrance education activities for Russian students of the "SJTU-MAI" bachelor and Master degree program

On October 27, 2022, the welcome exchange meeting and admission education activities for Russian students of the "SJTU-MAI" double degree program were carried out smoothly. Executive Vice President Wu Shufan, Vice President Zhan Xingqun, Director of Teaching Office Tian Wei, International students' Ideological and political Affairs Xu Yongjian, Dong Ting and Gao Shan from Internationalization Office, as well as 33 Russian students participated in the event. The activity mainly includes four parts: entrance education, campus visit, midday exchange and exchange of graduating students and teachers.
 


 


 

The entrance education is presided over by Dong Ting from the International Office. First of all, President Wu delivered a welcome speech. He said it was encouraging to meet Russian students again on the campus of Jiaotong University after nearly three years of online courses. He sincerely hoped that the international students can achieve great success in the university, establish good friendship with the Chinese students and shine in the China-Russian aerospace field in the future.


 

Afterwards, Anna Katkina, teacher representative of International Office of Moscow Aviation Academy, delivered a video speech. She thanked the university and the school for caring for Russian students. She hoped the students can make full use of the exchange opportunities in China, study hard and research hard. She also urged students to abide by the rules of Jiaotong University.
 


Then, Vice President Zhan Xingqun introduced Jiaotong University and the School of Astronautics to the students. Jiaotong University has a long history and profound deposits. The school has a strong atmosphere for scientific research and learning, with distinctive international features. Dean Zhan hopes that students can make full use of the university's rich learning resources and explore the advantages of China and Russia in their fields of study. He encouraged the students to take an active part in school activities and be ambassadors of China-Russia exchanges.
 


 

Next, Tian Wei introduced the specific academic requirements and graduation requirements of the bachelor and master programs. He hopes that students can adapt to the study and life in Jiaotong University as soon as possible, complete all academic requirements, and get their degrees smoothly.
 


 

Finally, Mr. Xu introduced the rules and regulations of the school to the students. He hoped that the students can abide by laws and regulations, be honest and trustworthy, improve their awareness of personal safety protection, and spend a full and meaningful study and life in Shanghai.
 


 

After the entrance education, the students visited the landmark buildings of the campus under the guidance of Gao Shan from the International Affairs Office, which made the Russian students intuitively and vividly enhance their understanding of the campus and enhance their recognition and sense of belonging to the school.
 


 


 


 

At noon, the college arranged a Chinese-Russian student exchange session. Chinese and Russian students competed on stage to show themselves, and the exchange ended successfully in the chorus of Chinese and Russian students.

 

After the noon exchange, the Russian students of the 2020 master program of "SJTU-MAI" met separately with their Chinese tutors to discuss the graduation arrangement and get ready for graduation.

The welcome exchange and entrance education activities allowed the Russian students to have a comprehensive understanding of SJTU, and also strengthened the communication and exchanges between Chinese teachers and Russian students. Wish all of students a safe and successful study in SJTU. Wish all of students a successful study and grow together!
