2018 SJTU GLOBAL SUMMER SCHOOL Outlook of Future Technology in Aerospace Engineering

July 12-13 the Opening Ceremony of Global Summer School was held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Total number of participants is 21. They came from Canada, India, Slovenia, China, Brazil and Nigeria.

Global Summer School last from 11 to 26 July and, as part of the program, students are trained at the Aerospace Faculty of SJTU. They all attend a course of lectures on avionics and cosmonautics of professors from the USA, Canada, China, France and Spain. Among the topics of lectures are “Deep space exploration”, “Advanced flight control”, “Future aircraft technology” and others. Most of the students also study Chinese language and culture course. The program also includes visits to the leading aviation enterprises in China, such as Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC).

 

July 12 was the Opening ceremony of the Global Summer School, which was attended by teaching staff and SJTU administration. The participants could enjoy a cultural program from student teams of SJTU. The next day there was an opening ceremony specifically at the Aerospace Faculty. The students were welcomed by the SJTU Director of International Department Qifu Li.

From Moscow Aviation Institute, Project manager of joint Master´s degree program MAI-SJTU Alexander Khvan and third year MAI student of Faculty №1 “Aircraft Engineering” Dmitry Truchenkov were held the speech. 

From University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies(UTIAS), Dean Chris Damaren had delivered us a wonderful academic report, Spacecraft Development and Perspective. The students were in high spirits and listened carefully to the report. After that, they continued to have a heated discussion with Professor Damaren.
