Delegation of Shanghai Jiao Tong University visited Moscow Aviation Institute

On the 2nd and 3rd of April 2018, Associate Dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics(SJTU-SAA) Professor Xingqun Zhan and Associate Dean of SJTU-SAA Professor Gang Xiao, Professor Shufan Wu, Professor Fei Qi from the School of Mechanical Engineering and others visited Moscow Aviation Institute. Both parties had further discussions about the expand of overall cooperation between both universities' education, scientific research, and academic collaboration. The Rector of Moscow Aviation Institute Mr. Mikhail Pogosyan, Director of Advanced Programs Mr. Roman Klinovskiy, Director of Scientific Research Programs Dmitry Strelets, Dean of the School of Astronautics Olga Tushavina, Dean of School of Engines Veronika Monakhova and other directors of the school attended the meeting.

On the 2nd of April, Rector Mr. Pogosyan paid full attention to the report on the set up of the Belt and Road Joint Research Center. He showed high willingness in expanding the cooperation between SJTU in the field of transportation, building joint laboratories and serving in the establishment of the 'Belt one Road' comprehensive transportation system. They also discussed about the compilation of Joint China- Russia Aerospace Textbook Series, co-organization of The 12th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition and The 3rd International Civil Aviation Test Forum. Mr. Pogosyan gave affirmation and support to the discussions stated above and provided constructive opinions as well.

After that, around 10 professionals from SJTU and Moscow Aviation Institute reported and exchanged ideas on four scientific fields, which are navigation, Engine combustion, avionics and aeronautics. Both parties confirmed their cooperation on their field of interest and appointed a person-in-charge for each field.

On the 3rd of April, both parties had a meeting regarding ICASSE 2018 which will be held and co-organized in Moscow by the end of July 2018. After the meeting, both parties signed an agreed meeting minute. The delegation also visited Aerospace Laboratory, the Engines Laboratory, 101 Teaching and Research Laboratory, Wind Tunnel Laboratory and many more.

During their visit, Assistant of International Affairs of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Ms. Ting Dong conducted an admission talk for the Joint Education Program, SJTU-SAA 2018 international summer school. 55 undergraduate and graduate students from Moscow Aviation Institute attended the talk.
