On a bright and pleasant day, the spirit of womanhood blossoms. To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 and enrich the cultural and spiritual lives of female faculty and staff, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics hosted a DIY leather phone case-making event on March 5. Women faculty and staff gathered together, spending a warm and heartfelt holiday with skillful hands and a shared passion for craftsmanship.

The event venue was filled with a warm and inviting atmosphere, with materials such as textured leather, needles and thread, and hardware accessories neatly arranged. A professional instructor guided participants through the process of making a leather phone case. Everyone listened attentively and worked with focus, carefully stitching each seam with precision and dedication. The women, who are usually composed and capable in their professional roles, transformed into skilled artisans, pouring their creativity into every stitch and strengthening their bonds through collaboration and interaction.

After meticulous effort, each participant completed a simple yet exquisite and uniquely personalized leather phone case, perfectly blending practicality with aesthetic appeal. The venue was filled with laughter, joy, and a profound sense of accomplishment.

This event, centered around handmade leather crafts, allowed everyone to relax and nurture their spirits through an immersive experience, while also showcasing the confidence, elegance, and innovative spirit of women in the modern era.
At the end of the event, Party Secretary Hu Shiqiang, Deputy Secretary Liu Dong, and Labor Union Chairman Li Can, on behalf of the school and the union, presented flowers and holiday greetings to all the female faculty and staff who participated.
