On October 15, Liu Weidong, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), met and held discussions with a delegation led by President Tran Trong Dao of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Vietnam, at the Minhang Campus.

Liu Weidong extended a warm welcome to President Tran Trong Dao and his delegation. He emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, as well as the "China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges." Against this backdrop, collaboration between the two universities holds significant importance. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to jointly cultivate talent in engineering and technology, promote the development of the regional aviation industry, and continuously enrich the forms and substance of educational cooperation and exchanges between China and Vietnam.
Tran Trong Dao praised SJTU's long history and achievements in disciplines such as aeronautics and astronautics, as well as Chinese language education. He introduced TDTU's disciplinary structure and internationalization development strategy, expressing the university's desire to deepen cooperation with SJTU in various areas, including faculty and student exchanges and joint educational programs.

During the meeting, Xu Wu, Vice Dean of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, presented updates on the school's latest progress in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international collaboration. He also recalled the "Air Silk Road" project carried out in Vietnam in July this year by SJTU's "Global Challenge Program" team. Mo Xiaoling, Director of the International Office of the School of Humanities, introduced Chinese language and culture programs designed for international students. Zhang Jize, Regional Market Manager for Vietnam at COMAC's Marketing Center, participated as a representative of industry collaboration, exploring pathways for tripartite cooperation under the framework of university-enterprise partnerships.
The meeting was attended by relevant responsible officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the School of Humanities.
