On September 29, the “Tiangong Kaiwu · Wings to the Future — 2025 Aerospace Innovation and Technology Communication Conference” was held in Room 114 of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The event was co-hosted by the Science and Technology Committee of Minhang District and the Minhang District Association for Science and Technology, and jointly supported by the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Science and Technology News, and the Shanghai Association for Science Communication.

The conference included both on-site participation and a live broadcast. It aimed to promote aerospace knowledge and to explore new approaches for innovation and collaboration in the low-altitude economy. Representatives from the Minhang District government, aviation enterprises, universities, and media organizations attended the event. Nearly one hundred participants joined in person.

Professor Chen Fang, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, delivered a keynote speech titled “New-Quality Productivity in the Development of Aerospace Technology.” He gave an overview of the history and growth of SJTU’s aerospace discipline and the institute’s key achievements. From several perspectives—such as the civil aviation industry, the role of green aviation in achieving carbon neutrality, the strategic impact of unmanned aerial vehicles in modern conflicts, and the development and applications of hypersonic aircraft—Professor Chen analyzed the close connection between technological innovation and the creation of new-quality productivity in aerospace.

A roundtable discussion followed the keynote. Participants included Chen Hongming, Deputy Party Secretary and Town Chief of Wujiing Town, Minhang District; Zhang Jian, a science communication expert from China Science Communication; Guo Linhui, General Manager of Shanghai Aoyi General Aviation Co., Ltd.; Mao Weiwei, Marketing Director of Aviage Systems; Associate Professor Lu Yi from the School of Automation and Intelligent Perception; and Professors Chen Yonghe and Wang Guoqing from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Experts and representatives from government, industry, and academia exchanged views on strategies for developing the low-altitude economy. They shared insights, proposed ideas, and worked toward building consensus on future cooperation. The discussion brought new energy to the high-quality development of the aerospace industry and the cultivation of new productivity.
