The 2025 International Summer School organized by the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics was successfully held from June 30 to July 13, 2025. During the two-week program, 19 students from the Moscow Aviation Institute, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and the University of Warwick in the UK gathered on the SJTU campus for an enriching journey that combined aerospace expertise with immersive Chinese cultural experiences. The Moscow Aviation Institute also sent two senior faculty members to co-teach, further strengthening the teaching collaboration between our school and MAI.
On the morning of July 1, the university and the school held separate opening ceremonies for the International Summer School, officially kicking off the event.

Over the two weeks, the students attended and actively participated in a variety of lecture courses, including Aerospace Systems Engineering, Project Management, AI and Aerospace Technology Exploration, Mechanics of Shape Memory Alloys, and Bionic Design with 3D Printing. These sessions provided them with extensive professional knowledge and sparked a strong interest in interdisciplinary fields such as aerospace, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence.

In addition to the academic curriculum, the summer school also featured cultural workshops on Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting art, opening a door for the students to appreciate Eastern aesthetics and fostering deep friendships among them.

The students also made the most of their free time to explore Shanghai—strolling along the Bund to witness the dialogue between history and modernity, wandering through traditional alleyways to experience the vibrancy of local life, and ascending the heights of Pudong to envision the dynamic pulse of future development.
The two fulfilling and joyful weeks flew by in a flash. Through intensive coursework, captivating cultural experiences, and in-depth exchanges, the students returned home enriched with knowledge, friendships, and cherished memories. This summer school not only provided participants with a valuable platform for growth but also deepened the collaborative ties between our school and its international partner institutions.
