The college held the tenth student training workshop: 2018 Dual Bachelor Program(DBP) Academic Promotion Seminar

In order to further improve the level of undergraduate education and teaching and the quality of student training, the college held the tenth student training workshop recently in the cafe on the first floor of aerospace building. The meeting was attended by Chen Fang, the vice dean of teaching, Ge Yang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee,Song Wenbin Vice President of the Sino-Russian Joint Research Institute, teachers from the Teaching Office, Academic Affairs Office, International Office, and all the students of the 2018 class of DBP.

The meeting was chaired by Chen Fang.

 

At the meeting, Chen Fang first explained the current academic situation of the 2018 Mozambique International Class. Affected by the pandemic, students need to complete their studies in the form of online learning. In order to provide students with learning convenience, the college applied for fixed classrooms and encouraged students to establish mutual-aid study groups in the class. While strictly requiring themselves, they should supervise each other continuously. 

 

In order to further do a good job in the academic guidance of students, the college is equipped with three academic tutors according to the professional direction. Chen Fang notified the 2018 academic tutor candidates and their job responsibilities, and hopes that each academic tutor will be responsible for the academic assistance and support of the students in their respective directions.

 

Chen Fang also notified the college’s assistant teachers and job responsibilities for students in each direction, and asked the assistants to regularly summarize the attendance of the course, understand the operation of the online course platform, online learning, and collect relevant questions and timely feedback; complete the mid-term end of the course investigation and statistics; docking with the academic tutor of the college to answer questions about the course.

 

During the communication session, the students exchanged ideas with the teachers about the problems encountered in their studies. Although the causes of each student's academic problems are different, they will surely find shortcomings, study hard, and achieve good results in the future.

 

Teacher Song Wenbin hopes that the students will promptly report the problems encountered in the learning process, make more use of the strengths of DBP's educational resources, and continue to make up for the weaknesses by finding materials by themselves.

 

 

Ge Yang hopes that students will face the online teaching under the influence of the epidemic with a positive attitude, enrich themselves and improve themselves during the university; that students who have the ability to learn more participate in science and technology innovation; that academic tutors will play a more guiding role and participate in classroom listening; that the teaching assistant will care more about the students, and work hard together to ensure that the students of DBP will be successful in their studies.

 

The holding of the Academic Promotion Seminar is conducive to giving full play to the guiding role of academic tutors and teaching assistants to students' academic studies, guiding students to correct learning attitudes, master scientific learning methods, improve self-management and autonomous learning capabilities, and lay a foundation for the implementation of student training goals.
