Experience

An Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Deputy Chief Engineering of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), and the Dean of School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He graduated from the Northwestern Polytechnic University with a degree in Aerodynamics. He has worked at the First Institute for Aircraft Design, AVIC, mostly in areas of aeroelastics, structure and strength, and overall design of aircraft on a number of projects including Y-7-200A, MPC-75, and AE100. Dean Tang was appointed chief designer of JH-7A (FBC-1 Flying Leopard) in 2000, and he was appointed the chief designer for a new, unspecified aircraft project in 2007, which is part of National Major Scientific and Technological Projects. Dean Tang has won a First Prize and a Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Awards, as well as one Special Prize, and five Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Awards on the Provincial level. He has published 8 technical books and over 20 technical papers.
